The Sleeping Beauty of the port
Look at how big the farm is and look at it from different angles if you walk around Correos, to the Vía Laietana and Paseo Colón. But for some reason no one had noticed that on the corner between Gignàs and Hostal d’en Sol streets, there is a beautiful noble estate, which had fallen into oblivion, and lay closed, with those airs of sadness and decadence that give off the farms that had a time of splendor and that no one cares to keep as they deserve.
When we visited it for the first time, the sign of Pension 1 star that was on the door caught our attention, with the word “rooms” traduced in almost every language. Effectively on the Main Floor and on the first floor there was a boarding house, still with 90 cm folding beds, old agglomerate furniture, and with a couple of bathrooms to share among the 36 guests that had maximum capacity. It even had a ghostly point, and surely more than one horror film producer would have seen there a fantastic set of filming ready to record. But if you looked at it with our eyes, you could see the enormous potential that this wonderful building had. Built on beach sand, today after our performance, has recovered among other outstanding architectural aspects, the original marbled facade, and it offers 17 new homes for long-term rental.
